My Laugh for Today

After picking up the kids from school, I decided to go to Target. As we parked, a woman walked up to my car saying she had two small children, her husband just died from cancer, and that they didn’t have any food. I told her “no, I don’t have anything to give you as I am a single mom of four.” She continued to ask for money, I then told her “I didn’t believe her because there has been too much additional assistance available to many people and that there was plenty of foodstamps and wic benefits available”. My 8 and 6 year olds stated the woman didn’t look like she needed help. Then, they began discussing homeless individuals. My 8 year old daughter said “ if a person claim they are homeless and have white teeth, then everyone know they’re not homeless. “ I laughed and then said “what, where did that come from?” I told her that it was not true and that the condition of a person’s teeth don’t define them.
